Freelance Webdesign, Bookmark Dev

At Bookmark Dev, I specialize in crafting clean, modern, and user-focused websites that help individuals and small businesses stand out online. With a background in both design and development, I bring a balanced approach to each project—combining aesthetics, usability, and performance. Whether you’re looking for a simple portfolio, a custom CMS solution, or a fully responsive site that tells your story, I’ll work with you to build something that fits your goals and grows with you.

Nautical Shipping Full Stack Web Development

At Veson Nautical, I contributed to all aspects of a web-based platform used by over 38,000 users in the maritime shipping industry. My work spanned from front-end development in React to back-end enhancements, including microservice creation, bug fixes, query optimization, and development on the computational geometry engine that generated shipping routes.

Aras PLM Implementation

At MIT Lincoln Laboratory, I was a core member of the team implementing the Aras Product Lifecycle Management system. My responsibilities included gathering and documenting requirements, managing test database installations, configuring workflows, writing JavaScript customizations, and conducting user training. I received outstanding performance feedback from leadership for my contributions.

Level99

I was a contract Software Engineer at Level99, debugging and developing new features in a Python-based control system for interactive gaming installations. I worked with hardware integrations, including lights, motors, buttons, and sensors, to create immersive gaming experiences.

Optical Ground Station

At MIT Lincoln Laboratory, I completed optomechanical design, integration, and test of a ground station used in NASA’s Laser Communication Relay demonstration. I modeled the mechanical system in SolidWorks, conducted tests to verify optical performance, and coordinated the transportation and installation of heavy equipment at the final site.

Sentiment Analysis

For an Information Retrieval course project, I used Selenium and BeautifulSoup to scrape political quote data from OnTheIssues.org. I applied VADER sentiment analysis to evaluate the tone of the quotes and mapped the results to ideology scores provided by the site. The project was voted “Best Project” by my classmates.

Taxonomy generation and hierarchical topic modeling

For a Machine Learning course project, I explored topic modeling algorithms—particularly hierarchical Pachinko Allocation—and investigated their potential applications in automatic ontology generation. I used the Mallet library for implementing topic models and the WordNet API for synonym detection and hypernym expansion.

Hiking website with Drupal

ViewAcadia.com was a personal project showcasing hiking trails on Mount Desert Island, Maine, where I grew up. Live from 2012 to 2016, the site featured trail descriptions, mapped routes, and photo slideshows, all built using Drupal 7.

Interferometer Inspection Process

I developed inspection procedures using the FARO laser tracker interferometer for Corning’s large scale custom glass manufacturing equipment.

Manufacturing Automation

At Corning, I commissioned new automation equipment for a life science products manufacturing facility. My responsibilities included redesigning the site layout, writing requirements and project specifications, conducting factory acceptance tests, and authoring maintenance plans.

Jesup Memorial Library

I created Jesup Memorial Library’s first website in 2004 and maintained it through 2013, using a MySQL backend.
